Church Planting

The earth-shattering commitment of the early believers was to follow Christ recklessly! Their abandonment to Christ is what made them uncontrollable in the eyes of most civil leaders!

From the beginning IGo has envisioned not just teaching and training for missions, but to also be actively involved in missions/church planting as God leads. We have been taking the gospel to the Lisu Tribal village of Pang Klang for the past year and a half.

IGo’s church planting efforts are still in their infancy, so although the articles included in this newsletter are not all new church plants, all three of these families come under the church planting umbrella.

The Church of Jesus Christ in Thailand has had an interesting history. There were around 1500 men and women that converted to Christianity in 1554. Little more is recorded until European missionaries arrived in the 1800’s.

working with a local thai church It’s 4:53 AM as I quietly push my motorbike out the driveway and take the short drive to church. As I pull into the grassy parking lot, there are already several church members here.

We live in the mountains of Northern Thai- land about 2 1/2 hours from IGo. We live in a block and tile house that we share in a duplex style arrangement with a local Lisu Christian family. There are an estimated one thousand people living in our area, with the large majority being Lisu.

The kingdom of God is a living, growing thing. As soon as we join this kingdom, God instructs us to vest our full efforts in expanding it. God is not content to sit back and bemusedly watch the fight between good and evil, occasionally marking down the score.
